On that note i'm gonna latch on and list a bunch of other archive bands I consider worth mentioning. Not that these are the only good bands on archive...these are the bands I found just randomly hunting and pecking at bands I specifically had never heard before.

I'll just go alphabetically through my personal library:

Animal Liberation Orchestra
(jazzy jamband group)

Big Daddy Bluegrass Band
(take a wild guess)

Brent Hopper
(one guy with a guitar 2005-04-1 great vocals)

Cabinet
(jamgrass)

Cornmeal
(jamgrass)

Dread Clampitt
(jamgrass)

Earth Bombs Mars
(jamband)

EOTO
(live electronica)

Gordon Stone
(jazz/jamgrass)

Grass Is Dead
(killer bluegrass Dead cover band)

Greensky Bluegrass
(more jamgrass yall)

Head for the Hills
(jamgrass, i'm beginning to see a pattern)

Horseflies
(ya oughtta check out some jamgrass)

Land of Atlantis
(funky jazz...you thought i was gonna say jamgrass)

Monkey Navigated Robots
UPDATED: If nothing check out their 2007-02-05 cover of Come As You Are...great 20 minute jam
(funky jazz, A+, not enough shows posted)

New Mastersounds
(funky jazz...very tight)

Poor Mans Whiskey
(jamgrass...2007-05-08 they cover the Dark Side of the Moon)

Sarah Watkins
(the chic from Nickel Creek...gorgeous voice)

South Austin Jug Band
(bluegrass)

Teddy Presberg
(excellent funky jazz guitarist...reminds me of Scofield)

Two High String Band
(bluegrass)

There's plenty more all over archive...thats just what i've found so far that I like.

Saw Cornmeal 2X at 10,000 Lakes Festivals and also have seen Greensky Bluegrass, all great shows. Yes to Sarah Watkins, with you there.

They put the delay and compression effects on the fiddle and it just blows up the sound (in a good way)

Cabinet does the same thing.
